What are some venues on campus for Bands to play at?

There's the stage on Folsom Field and Club 156 (I think that's the name) inside the UMC. Ask at The Connection (where the bowling alley is).

bands also play in macky and glen miller/aspen rooms on the second floor of the UMC. but they do play in club 156/the connection. as far as I can tell, there are dozens more rooms that are on campus and usable, but most of those shows are set up as an event or through Program Council

You might be able to use a stage in the music building. There's the Grusin Music Hall and also room N1B95.

I always hear about bands playing at Club 156 in the UMC

I think the club 156 on the first floor fo the UMC is small but it is a more intimate setting to see bands

the only venue on campus is club 156 it is in the umc connection and has program council concerts

there are many but the best venue is the one at the fox on pearl street.
